Researchers, authors, sponsors, editors, and publishers all have ethical obligations regarding the publication and dissemination of research results. Researchers have a duty to make public the results of their  human subjects research and are responsible for the completeness and accuracy of their reports. All involved must adhere to accepted guidelines for ethical reporting. Negative and inconclusive results, as well as positive results, must be published or otherwise made available to the public. Sources of funding, institutional affiliations, and conflicts of interest must be disclosed in publications. Research reports that do not adhere to the principles of this Statement should not be accepted for publication.
